Registration now open: Summer Institute on Teaching

Summer Institute on Teaching takes place May 29-30

The Summer Institute on Teaching (SIT) is an intensive and celebratory multi-day event that brings together educators from across the University of Delaware to build and strengthen a community around teaching and learning. The institute highlights emerging and established pedagogical practices, resources and technology tools with an emphasis on evidence and scholarship. It also provides a showcase for the exceptional efforts and accomplishments of UD’s educators.

This year's event will take place over two days and two modalities.

Day 1, May 29: Join us for a virtual event on Zoom, beginning with a panel of UD faculty sharing stories and ideas about teaching with AI. Continue the day on Zoom with sessions on a wide variety of teaching topics.

Day 2, May 30: Interactive workshops, discussions, panels and information sessions will take place in-person at the ISE Lab.  New this year will be "sandbox" style sessions, for instructors who wish to engage in hands-on learning about AI tools and platforms. Session tracks include: Student Mental Health and Wellbeing, Connecting with our Students, Back to Basics, and Talking about Talking. Coffee is provided, and lunch will be served if you pre-register.

Ready to learn more about teaching with AI? Interested in how to enhance your face-to-face teaching with low-tech, people-centered practices? Seeking greater connection with your fellow educators? Come to SIT! This year, we hope there's something for everyone.
